I am inspired by the joy that progression and achievement brings my students and with handstands the progression is endless.
I love the puzzle of balance keeping the body in alignment to balance. There is always something that can be improved or new transitions to learn. The journey is endless and wonderful.
I am an internationally renowned hand-balancer and teacher with 20 years’ experience teaching both adults and children, from beginners to professionals.Currently I teach on the degree course at the National Centre for Circus Arts, having taught workshops all over the world in both handstands and dance, ranging from retreats, and festivals to outreach projects for adults and children.
I also have experience as an acrobatic consultant for award winning theatre shows, and events
My teaching ethos is to work with your body not against it. Everybody’s body is different. We will work with your assets to find skills and techniques that work for you. That isn’t to say that we can’t work on weaknesses, just that we are all built slightly differently and we shouldn’t forget that.
As a creator and performer.
I have created and directed several circus theatre works and three short films under the name Inverted including Tessarae Box, and Elusive Circus, Dust, which were all supported by Grant for the Arts as well UK venues.
As a performer I have worked for many corporate events around the world, as well as companies inluding Cirque Eloize, Batman Live World Arena Tour, Will Tuckett, Visuals for Muse, Mini Cooper, both English National Opera and Royal Opera House, and the National Theatre. I have been involved in TV and film for Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows, Desperate Romantics. I also hold a Guinness World Record for aerial silks.
I was assistant director on Illuminations directed by Struan Leslie, Acrobatic consultant to Lynn Page on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, and acrobatic consultant for The Jungle at the Playhouse Theatre, associate circus consultant on Our Lady of Kibeho at the Royal & Derngate Theatre.
